5. Who Can I Pay?
EZ-Pay gives you the freedom to make payments to just about anyone. You can even make payments to individuals, for example a relative or friend. There are only three restrictions: 1) the merchant/payee must be located in the United States, 2) no payments will be sent to the Internal Revenue Service, and 3) no payments can be made to a court or judicial system.
Along with making bill payments, you can also use EZ Pay to send gift checks for birthdays, graduation or weddings.
6. How Do I Add Merchants?
On your EZ-Pay Enrollment Form, you will list the merchants (along with their phone number, address, and your account number with the merchant).
Once enrolled in EZ-Pay, you can add merchants at any time. Just use the "Manage Payee" option and "Add New Payee".
Bill Payer has a large data base of companies that are currently receiving payments. First search to see if your payee is already in the data base. If not, then you will need to add the new payee and submit the name, address, etc.
7. How Do I Schedule Payments?
EZ-Pay allows you to schedule both Single and Recurring Bill Payments. After you enroll in EZ-Pay, you can then schedule/activate all your payments and processing dates for both recurring and/or single payment bills. You also have the option during payment set-up to establish an end date to on recurring payments. If an end date is chosen, this date will be displayed as the payment's frequency end date.
Single Bill Payments are payments with varying amounts or payments that occur on an unscheduled basis, for example a doctor bill. When you schedule a Single Bill Payment, the amount is processed on the date you request and another payment will not occur without being scheduled by you.
To add a new recurring or single payment over the Internet, the merchant must first be set up on your list of authorized payees.
8. How Are Merchants Paid?
Merchants are paid mainly by electronic funds transfer. If the merchant does not accept electronic payments, a check will be mailed. If the payment will need to be sent by mail, Bill Payer will be able to give you an estimated number of days to allow for your payment to be received. For your credit protection, never use the late date or a date in your grace period as a scheduled date. Doing so, may cause your payments to be late. Some merchants may wait 3 days to post electronic funds to your account, and in the case of a check, you need adequate time for it to be received through the mail. Payments are not processed or sent on weekends or federal holidays.
9. How Are Funds Withdrawn From My Account?
Payments are deducted from your Checking or Savings Account on your scheduled bill processing date. If you do not have the funds available in your account on that date, your payment may be cancelled.
If you have authorized Omaha Federal Credit Union to transfer funds to cover overdrafts, funds will be transferred to cover payments. Your Overdraft Protection Loan will also be used to cover your bill payments.
All payments on EZ-Pay will then appear on your monthly Credit Union statement with the merchant code and the date the amount was debited from your account.
10. How Many Payments Can I Make Each Month?
EZ-Pay allows you to make unlimited payments each month.
11. Can I Track My Past or Pending Payments?
Yes. Just click on "Payment Activity". Then you can view either pending payments or payment history.
12. Who Do I Call If A Payment Is Not Posted?
First, allow five (5) business days for the merchant to post your payment. If after five days the payment is still not received and posted by the merchant, call Member Service at 1-800-314-2227. EZ-Pay personnel will follow-up and contact you within 24-hours on the status of your payment.
