Omaha Federal Credit Union recognizes the importance of our members' privacy. So naturally, we want to protect the personal and financial information you have entrusted with us. For this reason, we would like to explain some of our procedures which are intended to protect your privacy.

We have adopted "Eight Privacy Principles" to guide us in dealing with consumer information. We have also outlined other procedures which we have designed to protect your privacy.

You should note that we cannot accept communications from someone claiming to represent you, unless the party acting for you is your attorney, guardian, trustee, or is otherwise authorized by law to represent you.

PRIVACY PRINCIPLES

1. Recognition of a Member's Expectation of Privacy. Omaha Federal Credit Union recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of our members.

2. Use, Collection and Retention of Member Information. Omaha Federal Credit Union will collect, retain and use information about individual members in an appropriate and reasonable fashion. We generally limit our collection, retention and use to information we deem necessary or appropriate to administer your accounts to provide member services, to offer products to you, to make opportunities available to you, and to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.

3. Maintenance of Accurate Information. Omaha Federal Credit Union has established procedures to help ensure that a member's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards.

4. Limiting Employee Access to Information. Omaha Federal Credit Union limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those with a business reason for knowing such information. We educate our employees so that they will understand the importance of confidentiality and member privacy. Credit Union employees are personally responsible for maintaining our member's confidence in Omaha Federal Credit Union. Employees who violate this principle are subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal.

5. Information Security Safeguards. Access to member information is limited to those who specifically need it to conduct their business responsibilities; and we use appropriate security techniques designed to protect our members' financial information.

6. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information. Omaha Federal Credit Union will not reveal specific information about member accounts or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of bona fide due diligence, unless: 1) the information is provided to help complete a member initiated transaction; 2) the member requests it; 3) the disclosure is required by/or allowed by law (e.g., subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, etc.); or 4) the member has been informed about the possibility of disclosure for marketing or similar purposes through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to decline (i.e. "opt out").

7. Maintaining Member Privacy in Business Relationship with Third Parties. We expect third parties who assist us in providing products and services or information to our members to adhere to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping member information confidential.

8. Disclosure of Privacy Principles to Member. We have developed these principles, and share them with our members in light of member concerns regarding financial privacy.

Information We Share with Consumer Reporting Agencies. It is commonplace for financial institutions like Omaha Federal Credit Union to share information about member accounts with consumer reporting agencies. If you believe some of the information we have shared or may share is in error, please let us know by writing to: Omaha Federal Credit Union, 3001 S. 82nd Avenue, Omaha, NE 68124.

Please give us your complete name, current address, phone number and social security number. You will also need to include your account number, type of account and the specific item in dispute, along with the reason you believe this information has been reported in error. We will do our best to correct any error specifically relating to the information that we report.

Information We Share with Third Parties. Fromm time to time, we share member information with parties outside of Omaha Federal Credit Union as described in Privacy Principle Six. When we do provide member information to selected third parties to provide products, services or other opportunities to our members, we only do so when we believe it may help meet your financial needs or be of interest. If you do not wish for us to do this for you, simply tell us you wish to "opt out" of such third party information sharing. This request must be sent in writing to: Omaha Federal Credit Union, 3001 S. 82nd Avenue, Omaha, NE 68124. Joint account owners or owners or borrowers will need to send a separate request. You may also inform us that you wish to "opt out" of third party information sharing, by filling out an "opt out" form available at any of our locations.

Web Site/Internet Services Privacy

Omaha Federal Credit Union's mission is an ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services to meet the financial needs of our members. We always strive to deliver our services to all members, regardless of location, which translates into use of the newest technologies for service delivery. One of the newest delivery channels is the Internet. A logical concern arising from the rapidly changing world of technology and specifically the Internet, is your right to conduct business with us in confidence, and your right to maintain privacy over your financial matters.

We want to assure you that we share your concern. Omaha Federal Credit Union is committed not only to providing you with the most efficient services, but also to ensure that all business you conduct with us is held in the strictest confidence and that your transactions are safe and secure.

To this end, Omaha Federal Credit Union has adopted an Information Privacy Policy. This policy is distributed to all staff. The policy basically states that any information disclosed to Omaha Federal Credit Union in the course of normal business will be held in the strictest confidence. Unauthorized or illegal disclosure of your private information is considered a policy violation and subjects the guilty party to discipline. Employees are reminded that their responsibility to maintain this privacy continues even after their employment ends.

Omaha Federal Credit Union will not sell your name and address to any mailing lists or to any merchants. We are in the business of serving our members, not marketing those lists to anyone.

In addition to our policy, we take a proactive approach to making the business you transact with us as safe and secure as possible, in both the delivery and storage of data. Some areas of our web site require information, such as your account number or personal identification number, to enable you to perform certain tasks (for example, review your account history or transfer funds). Whenever we ask for personal information on our web site, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology for transferring data. This technology encrypts - scrambles - your account information so it is virtually impossible for anyone else to read it.

In order to better serve you and protect your account information, some of our online services use "cookies". Cookies are nuggets of data that are stored on your hard drive as a file. Cookies are used to verify who you are while using these online services. Cookies make it easier, quicker, and more secure for you to log into and use these services. Cookies do not compromise your privacy. The data is usually stored on your computer's hard drive as a file or folder and can be deleted at anytime if you choose. The use of cookies are strictly for your account security while using these online services.

In order to improve our web site, we gather and analyze data regarding usage of our web site, including number of hits, pages visited, length of user sessions, etc. to evaluate the usefulness of our site. This data is limited to general information and does not contain your name, account number or any personal information about you.

Our Web site does not require you to disclose any personally identifying information. If, however, you choose to contact us via e-mail, please keep in mind that your e-mail address, and any other information your e-mail header shows about you, such as your name or organization, will be revealed to us in the e-mail. We pledge, however, that when you communicate with us via e-mail, we will use your e-mail information only for the specific purpose of responding to your comments or questions. Your e-mail address will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the credit union unless we are compelled to do so by law.

Our site is powered by Open Solutions using their Cyberbranch program. They have taken steps to ensure that our members can do business privately and securely over the Internet. Their security consists of a Secure Socket Layer (SSL), encryption,passwords, filtering routers and firewalls. If you come across anything inappropriate due to a link, please let us know and we will remove that link. We encourage all children to get a parent or legal guardian's permission before giving out any information about themselves to anyone by e-mail or over the Internet.
