Afghan Raffle Donations Support Local Children & Families
Raffle tickets are available to purchase at all OFCU branches for a chance to win a beautiful handmade holiday afghan crocheted and generously donated by member Linda Bohac.
For many years, this holiday afghan raffle was a special tradition at Heartland Area Federal Credit Union, bringing members and employees together to support a worthy cause. Following HAFCU’s merger with OFCU in late 2024, we now proudly carry this tradition forward to continue its festive spirit of giving.
Linda served as President of HAFCU before retiring in Oct. 2022. An avid crocheter, Linda has long enjoyed using her creative talents to give back to the community.
“I have always loved to crochet,” Linda said. “I enjoy this pastime as well as giving back to the community and Children’s Miracle Network.”
The off-white afghan is made with fully washable acrylic yarn and features single crochet and bobble stitching. It measures approximately 51 in. by 63 in.
As Linda stated, “It would make a wonderful warm throw, holiday gift or home décor item.”
The afghan will be on display at OFCU’s Main Branch on Thurs., Oct. 15 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) as part of our International Credit Union Day celebration. The raffle will conclude Thurs., Dec. 10, with the winning ticket drawn and the lucky winner contacted on Thurs., Dec. 17.
All raffle proceeds will benefit Children’s Miracle Network, supporting our local Children’s Hospital as well as the children and families it serves.
We are especially grateful to Linda for helping us continue a beloved tradition that meant so much to the Heartland community. We look forward to making this special tradition part of OFCU for years to come.
Tickets cost $1.00 ea., or $5.00 for six. Everyone is welcome to participate!
