More than half of consumers believe they’re a bigger fraud target now than last year, with their primary concerns being identity theft (64%), stolen credit card information (61%), and digital privacy (60%). Businesses are equally concerned, with 70% reporting growing fraud losses over recent years.

Here are 3 tips to help keep you safe:

1) Stay alert for malicious links, DMs from customer service reps requesting account info and too-good-to-be-true deals for goods and services.

2) Avoid scanning QR codes from unknown sources and domains that request credentials or sensitive data. Always examine URL previews for typos and https, and don’t trust abbreviated links.

3) Never respond to overly insistent representatives, and only contact support numbers from legitimate company websites. Don’t click any unexpected links, emails, or pop-ups with tech support offers.
